Kev McCloud.

Shannon Mckenna - Fade to MidnightI just love how Kev makes Edie his only thought. How he only focuses her. And despite his scarred life so far, he still wants to do it the normal way; to court her, date her, marry her, and have babies.

So want.

About Shannon Mckenna's up-coming hardcover...

I was thinking:

I'm going to buy it.

Then rip the hardcover out. Carefully.

And pretend it's a trade paperback. ☺

OMG.

SHANNON MCKENNA.

Kev McCloud.

OMG.

First, no words can describe my extreme joy at finding out that Shannon Mckenna's website is updated with Kev's story.

No I didn't read the excerpt.

I will not read it.

May 2010? I can wait.

Because in the meantime, I'd have Abby Green's The Virgin's Secret, out in March. ☺

By the way, I hate keeping track of release dates. Headaches, you know.

Davy!

Duncan Burke.

^ From Shannon Mckenna's Tasting Fear.

He's probably my favourite man in this book.

Because he lets Nell use him like a 'personal life-sized sex toy'.

WAnt.

Current read, new book, old books..

  • Tasting Fear arrived. *Checks calender for a good weekend to read it. *
  • I've got a number of favourite books with pages getting... old. Brown. Yellowish. Spots breaking out (whatever you call them). I've thought about selling them and then buying new ones again online.

Monday, August 31, 2009

Previous read, current read, and blahs.

  • I loove Mary McBride's Baby, Baby, Baby. I can't stop thinking about the arctic white part. That was when I knew for SURE I was going to enjoy the rest of the book.
  • I ordered Tasting Fear (oh yeah baybeh) and can't WAIT for it to arrive.
  • Currently reading HelenKay Dimon's Hard As Nails. It's about time. I'm still at the beginning, stopping at where Cole's "lower half took charge". ☺ Why I stopped? Because it's just too good for me to continue reading on stressful weekdays. This weekend is so reserved for this. Dammit. I hate stopping. Shouldn't even have started it yesterday. Argh.
  • Bye August 2009. I wish for more relaxing times in Sept for reading.

Yah-nosh.

Ever since page 76 when Davy (♥) pronounced Val's name correctly, I made sure I read the name correctly too in my mind for the rest of the book. Janos = Yah-nosh. Gosh. Who knows how many other hero/heroine/supporting characters' names I've read wrongly.

Ultimate Weapon by Shannon MckennaShannon Mckenna really outdone herself with this book. Tamara and Val are probably the hero & heroine with the most f**ked up past (and present) I've ever read. Well, makes them special.

Tamara is not really the Tamara that I read in the previous books, but then I didn't really get to know what's on her mind and she hadn't got a three year old baby girl yet. Crying? Hell. It only shows that Tamra's human. A super crazy one I might add with the poison tongue stud. And Val? I already love him upon knowing this name. Val Janos (Yah-nosh. *Adds to list of favourite hero names). Yummy. Val baby, I will call you Val as many times as you like, since Tamara is too stubborn to do that.

I'm already very looking forward to their appearance in the next McCloud book. I crave to read something happy and sappy about them. They so deserve it so much after this tedious book. Weddings, a new baby, whatever. Something that makes me go aww. Like Davy (♥) holding his baby girl. Oh I was hopping for a little showdown of Becca and Tamara (or mutual understanding), since Becca didn't really seem to like her in the previous book..

Favourite scenes? Probably all those of Val and Tam together. All really. They're goood together. And the part when Val had baby Rachel sitting on this shoulders. And Rachel "flirting" with him. Cute.

Hey lil' tibit: Ulimate Weapon and Extreme Danger has the same number of pages. 426. It's freaking thick (and heavy). Poor my hands. But can't complain. More would be really great though.

It's approximately 3.1cm thick.

At the risk making the book draggy, but I somehow wish the next book would have 500 pages. I can't get enough of a Shannon Mckenna hero. Sigh. So now what? Another year's wait for a full-length novel? Damn. Can I have a novella or two in-between?

Some things to say..

I haven't really read alot in October, and I blame it on my month-old mobile phone. I spend too much time fidgeting with it. But great news, I realised that I prefer reading the eBooks on it in landscape orientation!

Landscape orientation is good for my eyes.

^ What's on screen isn't clear, but it's part of the eBook The Bodyguard: Nash, by Michelle Hasker. I've enjoyed reading her books, and most of them can be finished in about an hour or 2. Sexy quick reads. ☺ I need more of those. Some of Michelle Hasker's eBooks can be found in multiformat at Fictionwise. She also has many free short reads on her website.

--------------------

Baddest Bad Boys by Shannon Mckenna, E.C. Sheedy, & Cate Noble I finally got around to read Baddest Bad Boys. I think most of E.C. Sheedy's stories stars an older woman and a younger man right? I do like the hot spring scene in it. Love sees no (age) boundaries. ♥

As for Cate Noble's story, I had wished for more, as the ending is kinda abrupt for me. But the sex is hawwt. Rrwoar baybeh.

Ultimate WeaponI've read Shannon Mckenna's novella earlier a few months ago ever since I got my hands on the book. Never delay myself a Shannon Mckenna hero. ♥

Ultimate Weapon (wow it's McCloud book No. 6 already) is out now. Yay Tamara! Com'on dear local bookstores stock them fast stock them fast stock them fast.

--------------------

Wild in the Country by Portia Da Costa This book is not for me. I'm not into MMF, MFF, FMMFMFMF, or any combination that's not plain MF. That's what happens when I didn't research eh? I also blame it on eBook coupons having expiry dates. But but but, the revelation at the end, I find it sweet. Really. So it kinda makes mades the whole book alright for me. Somehow I'm glad I got to the end, even though it's mostly skimming..

--------------------

Master of Swords by Angela Knight! I have this wonderful book right next to me now and I'm already half-way through reading it. Angela Knight's Master of Swords. Gawain! ♥

Ahhhh! It's Updated!

What's updated? Shannon McKenna's website that's what! I'd be so crazy not to post this. I've waited too damn long, and woweee that cover:

ULTIMATE WEAPON excerpt.

Heroine: Tamara ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
Hero: Val Janos ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

OH me. Her books takes forever to come out, and her website takes forever to be updated. But hey, it's still worth the wait. Though I hate waiting.

From the website:

Tamara’s a bad girl with a dangerous difference. Enter a terrifying, sexually charged world of thrilling suspense where love is the riskiest game of all . . .

THE FIRST CUT IS THE DEEPEST

Covert operations are what Val Janos is all about. The man is mysterious and sinister, and lethally hot. Only Tamara can understand the strange intensity that drives him to win at all costs—and only she can match it.

Val has one weak spot : Imre, the frail old man who befriended him when he was a scared, hungry kid abandoned on the streets of Budapest. But Daddy Novak knows about Imre, and Imre’s head is on the block if Val doesn’t deliver Tam up to Novak’s tender mercies . . .

A white-hot passion explodes when Tam and Val get too close. They both have too much to be afraid of, too much to hide. And now, for the first time, too much to lose . . .

Holy Mama. Val Janos. Mysterious. Sinister. And lethally hot. I don't think I can sleep tonight. I'm so excited! Yay for Tam! ♥

I think I'm always late in knowing things.

I can't decide..

.. which book to read first.
Yup, looking at all these books at the same time can make me very frustrated.

I ordered them online, and they all arrived today. And pity me, for I can't decide which one read first. I feel like tearing my hair off my head. And scream. Loud. It's actually very frustrating. I'm blogging when I could have just started on one of them.. about five hours ago. Time wasted. I can't decide!

I don't really want to start on one book and then keep thinking about another. It would be like having an affair. Or maybe I think too much.

I wanted to dig in to Shannon Mckenna's new novella first as I feel I'm been waiting for years for it. But how can I resist Kresley Cole's Immortals After Dark series? Two full novels? One novella? Cade, I feel like skipping Conrad's story and read about you first. Conrad baby, I still love you lots even if I don't know you well enough yet. You're a vampire and I have this thing for vampires. And Nikolai, no I didn't forget you.

But-but-but I'm aching to try Pamela Clare too. I read too much about this three books of hers online and I really-really-really want to satisfy my curiousity asap.

I can't decide! I don't think I can sleep tonight.

Extreme Danger.

I love it.
Need.. Nick.. Ward..
Nick is everything I wish he'd be, alpha, alpha, alpha. Sexy. Hot. Possesive. Protective (damn fiercely). Stupid (oh, this is not what I wish him to be, but he is anyway). Male. Very male. Virile. Can 'do it' many times. Hmm did I just also describe the McCloud brothers & gang? Plus perhaps a hundred other romance novel heroes? What the heck. Pardon my limited vocab.

There is a part in the story where I want to smack Nick silly. Oh wait, he's already being silly (understatement, really). I wish I could smack him enough to come to his senses. Thinking back to the other novels.. no I don't remember wanting to smack Seth Mackey. Connor? Yes *smack *smack. Sean? Yup *smack *smack *smack. Davy? Only at the end *one small smack.

Becca? What's there to be said about her other than wishing that I can replace her place in Nick's bed? (Or any other places where one can woo-hoo with him?)

Tamara has been an interesting character in the previous novels, but I never had more interest in her than the men (duh). But my point of interest definately changed at the end of the book. If there're actually five or ten more hot, sexy, & brooding McCloud brothers (which would be heaven) lined up waiting to have their stories written, I'd still want to read Tam's first. Let's just say, I do love stories with babies in them. ☺

I can't for my life imagine how will Tam's hero be like. He definately has to exude even more sexiness than the McCloud brothers and gang. Alot more sexiness. Seriously. I want Tamara to have the second best (of course I get to have the best), because she's officially my favorite female character in a romance novel ever since reading the end of Extreme Danger. And I'm soo eagerly awaiting her hero. *Sigh.

I want Nick!

♥ Little Spoilers ♥

I love the Connor-and-baby-son moment at the beginning. Aww..

I love every moment with Davy (my favorite McCloud) in it. Especially the little part about the 'passionate kiss with lots of tongue' with his pregnant wife Margot on.. page two. Love it. And it's a baby girl for them! Aww.. I want to read a scene where Davy is cuddling and coo-ing his baby daughter. But no, there's none. WHHYY?!

And thank you thank you thank you to the great Ms McKenna for the 'I love you' and 'Marry me' all out way, way, way before the ending. I love reading them. Davy had problems with this, and I thought it was the biggest problem in Out of Control. *smack.

Mac and Jane have twins!

Save yourself time from reading this post by just going here.

It's just lame ranting by me. A Shannon Mckenna fan. Lots of exclamation marks. Seriously. If exclamation marks annoy the hell out of you, just go here.

So, here I go: Shannon Mckenna's webby is updated! Yay! That means excerpts! Yay! WooHoo! OMG! Weeee!

I just realised, I found out about her new book Extreme Danger on 11th Nov, and her website is updated the next day on 12th Nov. I found out about Edge of Midnight on 25th Feb, and her website was updated with that info the day before on 24th Feb. How close. Kinda freaky.

This is not the original cover folks!Anyway, there's an upcoming anthology with Shannon Mckenna in it (and E.C. Sheedy & Cate Noble). Yes I amended that cover. I prefer it like this. See the original cover here. And the paranoid me hopes that no one sues me over this editing.

Anyway, I had read the excerpt for Anytime, Anywhere. It stars a MacNamara sibling. Yay!

On a side note, Mac and Jane have twins! They have babies already! How heart-warming. Twins! Mac, you the man! Wow! I'm been waiting for news of them all along. That's the great thing about related stories. I'm just so glad this little tibit is available in the wonderfully lenghty excerpt. I just hope Robin and Jon will be starting a family already when Danny's story is out. Danny Danny Danny.

Props to E.C. Sheedy & Cate Noble too. Their characters' names really piqued my interest: Tommi Smith, Mac Fleming, Ellie McMann, Max DeLuca. Ah, and not forgeting Robin MacNamara & Jon Amendola. What a mouthful. They could actually name this anthology, Bad Boys With Unique Names.

The Redemption of Nick Ward. And lastly, I'm not forgeting Nick Ward. A great big jerk he is in Connor's story, but I'm sure he'll redeem himself by being all smoking hot and virile now that he's going to be in the spotlight. I only briefly glanced through the excerpt, something about Nick dragging a naked Becca out of the pool. Argh. I should not have even glanced at it. Dammit.

I cannot wait. I hate waiting.

More of the McCloud brothers? OMG!

It's not really focusing on the sexy McCloud brothers, but coming Feb 2008 (OMG! Only 4 more months!) is Nick Ward's story. He lives in the McCloud universe, so there're bound to be some appearances of the three brothers right? Right?

McCloud? Pls?

I'm late as usual in knowing about Shannon Mckenna's new stuff.

Pink Books Showtime!

Can't really think of a better title for this post. Anyway, I Only Have Fangs for You and Pink Ice just made me thought of some other pretty pink (or near pink/shades of pink/any pink/magenta can do too) books that I have:

Standing In The Shadows.

Standing In The Shadows by Shannon Mckenna - This goes first because it's my favourite of all the pink books story wise. Nobody writes like Shannon Mckenna. Period.

Two pinks by Christie Ridgway~

Not Another New Year's and An Offer He Can't Refuse by Christie Ridgway - I've finished An Offer He Can't Refuse, but Not Another New Year's in still my TBR. Christie Ridgway writes about family, friends, love, family, life, death, family, and even more family, friends, and love stuff.

I get emotional all the time reading her books.

Emotional = lots of tears flowing = heart-warming = another favourite author.

Oh there're lots of humorous moments in her books too to keep me laughing instead of crying all the time. Great, great, great, author.

Sealed With A Kiss~

Sealed with a Kiss - Loved the envolope image on the cover. Pamela Morsi is another author who writes sweet heart-warming stories that I love. Her older releases are very, very hard to find. All the books I own by Pamela Morsi are gotten from second-hand shops. I was lucky that those I found are still in very good condition.

The Heart's Haven~

The Heart's Haven by Jill Barnett. Jill Barnett's books are among the first few romances that I've read and loved. Try her Wonderful, Wild, and Wicked historial romance series. I give them big thumbs ups.

JULIAN BABY!

Alison Kent's The Samms Agenda - I like the pink namecard thing clipped to the folder, so this belongs here too. And also because Julian Samms is my favorite of the SG-5 hunks, so his book deserves this space more than the others. And also plus the fact that he swears in Mandarin! You know, I felt a connection with him every time he utters some chinese phrases. (Yes! I'm Chinese! I know Mandarin! Ha! Big revelation!)

And I just had to add this before I hit publish and go to bed:

The Pregnancy Test!

Shannon Mckenna 2007 Part 3!

The gorgeous book covers for Shannon Mckenna's 2007 releases: Edge of Midnight & All About Men.

I've thrown in some hearts too.

Shannon Mckenna 2007 Part 2!

I should have checked out Shannon Mckenna's webby yesterday.

It's updated! She's gonna write about Nick Ward! And also about the Duncan siblings! Omg! I do know these stories are gonna come sooner or later, but seriously, how can I wait?

Shannon Mckenna 2007

I so do not have the habit of checking out future releases for authors very often, because it pains me knowing that I have to wait 10 months or more to read book that I know would love.

And now I feel pain. I just found out about Shannon Mckenna's releases for 2007 from the Kensington website:

Edge Of Midnight
0-7582-1185-6
Author: Shannon McKenna
Pub Date : July 31, 2007
Imprint : Brava
Format : Trade Paperback

Argh! It's about Sean McCloud! How can I wait? I feel so frustrated now that I don't think I can sleep.

*takes a deep breath*

By the way, my favourite McCloud brother is Davy.

And another new book under the kensington title:

All About Men
0-7582-1985-7
Author: Shannon McKenna
Pub Date : July 3, 2007
Imprint : Kensington
Format : Paperback

Initially, I was excited about getting to read two books this year by Shannon Mckenna, but after I read the book description on Kensington's web, it's actually a collection of her previous three juicy novellas published under Brava.

But I'm still gonna buy it anyway. I was just hoping it could be under Brava's title. So it'd look good on my shelf with all the "B"s on the book spines.

I can't wait.
