Man Candy.

To celebrate my new blog design, I've chosen five delicious hunks to grace this post. I wanted to say "five book covers" instead of "five delicious hunks", but com'on let's admit it: it's the man that make the covers. So let's start the ball rolling with Jennifer Apodaca's Extremely Hot:

How can you deny those eyes?

I went phwoarr when I saw this cover on Amazon. Those eyes those eyes those eyes those eyes were sliently being chanted in my head over and over again. How can one resist them? He current holds the no.1 spot in my "Hottest Dude on a Book Cover" List. Ranked no.2 is Donna Kauffman's The Great Scot:

Holy Hunky Great Scot oh mama!

Yes, he used to hold the no.1 spot. I thought nothing can beat this, but guess I was wrong. And then this guy is stolen from HelenKay Dimon's blog:

Sexy Cleft.

It's the cleft on the chin. The manly cleft. Hot as hell. Someone told me that clefts and dimples are actually facial defects, but they ended up making the face look good, therefore nobody cared. Sooo, if you have a friend with pretty dimples and you are jealous of him/her, you can actually go up to him/her and say, "EEEwww! There's something wrong with the bones in your face!" Hahaha, but I digress. Back to the male-ogling.

Hot As Hell's blue cover reminds me of Charlotte Mede's Explosive. I've posted the cover before, but what the heck, it deserves to be posted again. And I just realised the hotties on both covers are looking in the same direction:

I. Love. You. Muah.

Lastly is Sylvia Day's A Passion For Him starring Nathan Kamp:

Nice pecs.

Nathan Kamp is the only romance cover model who's name I know, because I remember coming across his name on a reader's blog, and that reader is a big fan of him. I guess the name got stuck then. Based on his portfolio here, he IS hot. Nice to see him on more than one cover, but then I'd love to see fresh faces too.

Not surprisingly, all five books are Brava books, which always have the best covers out there. Great marketing. My poor piggy-bank.

I've got 3 new books. So drum roll please.

Buying new books every week is really a bad habit. I feel guilty when paying for them at the cashier. But after I tuck them comfortably on my shelf, I felt a great sense of satisfaction (got-my-hands-on-them kind of satisfaction) followed by dread real quick after realising how many books I have in my TBR pile.

I know of others with a hundred books waiting to be read. Mine is peanuts compared to them. But for my standards, having more then 5 currently and knowing that there will be more books coming and no time to read them -- sucks.

Anyway, Introducing my three new books:

My nose is stuck!

I just realised I got Viva Las Bad Boys! (also by HelenKay Dimon) on 9th Aug 2006 (which is Singapore's birthday!) I got this book, Your Mouth Drives Me Crazy, on 8th Aug 2007. So it's just a day short of a year. Damn. I really hate waiting. But luckily her next book is released on March 2008.

But isn't that like, 7 months later? Damn.

Next!

YEA YEA OH YEA!

Perfect Kisses! I love both Susan Johnson's & Sylvia Day's writings, and as for Noelle Mack, I'm still reserving judgment. I've got one of her book, Three published under Aphrodisia.

I do like Three and had enjoyed reading it. I only didn't like the fact that the hero and heroine didn't get married, though they did pledge to stay together. I'm all for marriages and having babies in the endings.

Next!

Yup, it's Sand, Sand, Sex

I wonder anyone remembered this page I created. It's about the title Sun, Sand, Sex. I checked back the newly-revamped Kensington page here, and they amended the title (correctly) with the comma instead of the "and" (as in Sand, Sand and Sex). But the kept the wrong spelling of Jennifer Apodaca's name!

Aha!!

Jennifer Apodaca and Shelly Laurenston are new to me. I can't wait to read Linda Lael Miller's story! She's one of my very first romance authors and I've enjoyed most of the books she have written. It's been quite a while since I last read her work.

10 New Books!

The past friday, 29th June 2007, was the day when 2 major bookstores are offering discounts storewide. And it's also the day I made my record of buying the most books in a day.

Showing off what I got in the order I took from the shelves:
Oh Suite Fantasy!

I read her novella in Wildest Dreams. Loved it, wanted more, got this book, am very happy now.

Oh The Art Of Seduction!

The Art of Seduction by Katherine O'Neal

I was so happy to see The Art of Seduction! It's supposed to be out on Feb'07, so I expected to see the book on the shelves latest by April (it takes approx. 1-2 mths for books released in the states to reach major bookstores here in lil' Singapore), but I had to wait 4 months! Till end June. Begining July. Argh.

I saw this book a long time ago on the shelves, but didn't buy it because I wasn't into paranomals. But it's a different story now.

When I lay my fingers on this book, I was silently screaming in my head: "OMG! OMG! OMG!OH YES! OH YES! OMG! OH YES! I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS! OMG! OMG!" and so on.

Oh Bled Dry!

I love the cover art. I love Erin McCarthy's Vegas Vampires. The first two books in the series are already the best damn funny vampire books I've ever read.

Read the excerpt for this? It's so damn hilarious. Karen Kelly did mention on her blog quite some time ago that she may write about a dark vampire. I'm so looking forward to that!

Oh Bad Boys with Tatoos!

The title always gives me an image of a man in tuxedo holding a red rose (or a bouquet would be nice).

What She Craves!

It's a historial romance, not obvious from the sexy cover. Luckily I came across the sexy excerpt, if not I might not have wanted to buy this book yet. It's shrink-wrapped too. I wish all books on the stores are shrink-wrapped so I don't have to waste time scrutinizing all copies to find one that isn't destroyed by the rough-handling by inconsiderate browsers.

I saw Alluring Tales first (an anothology with Sylvia Day in it too), but I placed it back on the shelf after I spotted this book. Because I was really, really tired carrying 9 books in my hand by now. Alluring Tales can wait.

It's a sexy book with chocolates mentioned, why shouldn't I get this?

Lastly, my arms/hands/fingers hurt bad carrying 10 trade paperbacks home.

Fulfilled my Punishment: Out of this World!

I finished reading Out of this World yesterday. Read about what's with the "punishment" here and here.

WOWZA!

The book is written in first person, which I wasn't really a big fan of. But I'm getting to like them due to alot of fabulously written ones.

In Out of this World, other than getting into Rachel Bond's mind (the girl who wrote the pros and cons on Alaska on the blurb), we get her good friend Kellan's view of things too, which surprised me because I totally didn't expect that. I don't read alot of first persons you know.

And that's probably what I enjoyed most about the book -- reading Kellan's view.

I got an overload of emotional feelings reading the first part of chapter 5 (Kellan's point of view), when Kellan is thinking about his and Rachel's past together: Rachel in kindergarden/high school/or just life in general together before this Alaska thing.

Of course, if Rachel would just realise that I'm her soul mate...

I'm a sucker for such thoughts, though they make me want to hit Rachel hard in the head (Of course I support Kellan. I always suport the heroes).

Unexpectedly, Out of this World had really taken me for a wild heart-stopping ride. I'd never thought there would be a your-life-is-in-danger moment in the book. But there is, complete with guns and pirates and all. Seriously, from the cover and blurb, I thought it's just a normal twist of your average cute romances with penguins in them. No danger involved. Hmm, maybe I should have taken a hint from the text under the title on the cover:

And I don't mean that in a good way...

Anyway, it has been quite an exciting reading experience for me. Me, who hardly ever touch paranormals or first persons. Now, throw me paranormals and first persons anytime.
