The Raven Prince - Part 2 - Finished!

  • Whywhywhy do I have to read this book on a weekday?
  • Ending is kinda abrupt for me. I want more. The next book?
  • The Raven Prince is actually my second historical read for this year. Gosh, what happen between me and historicals? I love them so much when I first discovered romance novels. But then I prefer medievals. Hard to find really goods ones though... Jill Barnett destroyed all other medieval romances for me.
  • Back to the book: Poor, poor Edward when *spoiler?* Anna left him (albeit temporary). Though I like how Iddesleigh came to "rescue" him from his self-pity, I do wish Edward gets to wallow in self-pity longer. I love reading about his thoughts of him & Anna ♥. But it's just me.
  • Thank you bloggers in Romancelandia for mentioning/reviewing The Raven Prince until I took enough notice of it to try it for no good enough reason. Thank you too, to my own randomness in choosing books. Mistress to the Merciless Millionaire, you are next. And no my dear, it's never random with you.☺

Imagine.

I have a great imagination. Which also means I'm pretty good at fantasizing.

Anyway, I just finished reading Imagine by Jill Barnett. It's been sitting in my TBR pile forever since November 2005!

Imagine... if you have three wishes...

The book is very worn, pages are yellow, but still in good readable condition. I picked it up at a second-hand book clearance sale for only a dollar.

From the back cover:

After years in prison for a murder he never committed, escaped convict Hank Wyatt knew how to survive. But he didn't know if he could last an hour marooned on a deserted tropical island with a beautiful blonde and three orphaned children.

There you have it, the magic words: Three children. Orphaned. So therefore, it's a tear-jerker. And it's a Jill Barnett story anyway, a story that warms the heart and will always makes me cry at some point. I did cry alot during the course of reading this book, but not at the ending (used up my tears). I cried with the characters, the heroine, the kids, and once with the hero.

I just love reading about the things they do on the island -- gathering driftwood, building shelter, and trying to find other kinds of food to eat besides bananas. It's really interesting, and the characters seems to have a good time on the island even they don't admit it. Must be because of those innocent kids..

One of the most memorable part of the story:

She glanced at the fish lying beside him. "How would you like them -- charred, incinerated, or just plain scorched?"

The book is partly paranormal too, it involves a genie, complete with three wishes of course.

For other Jill Barnett's books, I would highly recommended, Wonderful, Wild, and Wicked which stories are set in medieval England. I think I recommended them before, but I'm still gonna mention this again. And Wicked is my favorite.

Pink Books Showtime!

Can't really think of a better title for this post. Anyway, I Only Have Fangs for You and Pink Ice just made me thought of some other pretty pink (or near pink/shades of pink/any pink/magenta can do too) books that I have:

Standing In The Shadows.

Standing In The Shadows by Shannon Mckenna - This goes first because it's my favourite of all the pink books story wise. Nobody writes like Shannon Mckenna. Period.

Two pinks by Christie Ridgway~

Not Another New Year's and An Offer He Can't Refuse by Christie Ridgway - I've finished An Offer He Can't Refuse, but Not Another New Year's in still my TBR. Christie Ridgway writes about family, friends, love, family, life, death, family, and even more family, friends, and love stuff.

I get emotional all the time reading her books.

Emotional = lots of tears flowing = heart-warming = another favourite author.

Oh there're lots of humorous moments in her books too to keep me laughing instead of crying all the time. Great, great, great, author.

Sealed With A Kiss~

Sealed with a Kiss - Loved the envolope image on the cover. Pamela Morsi is another author who writes sweet heart-warming stories that I love. Her older releases are very, very hard to find. All the books I own by Pamela Morsi are gotten from second-hand shops. I was lucky that those I found are still in very good condition.

The Heart's Haven~

The Heart's Haven by Jill Barnett. Jill Barnett's books are among the first few romances that I've read and loved. Try her Wonderful, Wild, and Wicked historial romance series. I give them big thumbs ups.

JULIAN BABY!

Alison Kent's The Samms Agenda - I like the pink namecard thing clipped to the folder, so this belongs here too. And also because Julian Samms is my favorite of the SG-5 hunks, so his book deserves this space more than the others. And also plus the fact that he swears in Mandarin! You know, I felt a connection with him every time he utters some chinese phrases. (Yes! I'm Chinese! I know Mandarin! Ha! Big revelation!)

And I just had to add this before I hit publish and go to bed:

The Pregnancy Test!
