Temple is lucky.

Done reading Stealing the Bride by Elizabeth Boyle.

I thought that when Temple finally accepts Diana, it's like, he had it too easy. Diana is too nice.

But then if you've been waiting for a man for like... forever, I suppose if he says yes to you, you'd just hold on to him and never, ever, effing let go.

♥ Temple & Diana ♥

Call me Goddess, and I'd wait for you.

And the above only applies to the Marquis of Templeton.

Oh, I love reading.

Am talking about Stealing the Bride by Elizabeth Boyle.

No I'm not finished with the book, but I want to rant.

I can't wrap my mind around why I like Temple so damn much. I'm not into heroes who pushes the heroine away, and that the heroine has to do all the work.

But I suppose Temple is kinda different.

I think if Diana really is getting married to someone else (before all this bride for Napolee thingy hooha), Temple will do something about it. Or find some excuse to do something about it.

Temple! What's his name?

Oh oh- the part when he was holding his father's book of poems, and it just soothes him without having to read it? That was how I feel, holding a favourite romance novel in my hands.

And afterwards when Temple was telling Diana about his parents? Sweet.

The part where we get to read about how young Diana and Temple met, made me think of Wicked by Jill Barnett. I miss Sophia and Sir Tobin de Clare.

I love reading.

What I ordered, what I'm reading, and...

... some stuff.

I ordered Ruthless Greek Boss, Secretary Mistress. Go order at the Book Depository because you get free shipping. Go now.

The coming weekend is booked for reading the above mentioned. I just hope it arrives in time. If not, it'd be the next next weekend.

Just saw the cover for Abby Green's March 2010 book, The Virgin's Secret. The heroine looks asian.

OH yesterday I went to a used-book shop. At the Harlequin section, I dug out all the Abby Green books (3 copies of Ruthlessly Bedded, Forcibly Wedded) and placed them on top of other books.

I also noticed that that used-book shop carries quite a number of really, really, really ancient (I think) Harlequin books.

Any ancient Harlequin books to recommend?

----------

I'm currently reading Temple & Diana's story (Stealing the Bride by Elizabeth Boyle).

I'm not looking forward to reading about getting in cross-fires and being chased by the French, but the ton Elton Diana Temple is so interesting! Must-read-on.

Plus, he's crazy and I want to slap him. Many times.

I don't know if I have the Diana's patience. Wait 10 years (and maybe more) for a man? She's lucky she's living in a romance novel.

Something About Emmaline.

Finished Something About Emmaline yesterday. Love that book.

Maybe **spoilers** below.

I suppose Sedgwick continues to call Emmaline, Emmaline? I had hoped he calls her Button instead. It sounds cute.

I'm so glad I had the effing mood to continue reading this book for the past two days. Argh I love it.

I want to read Templeton's next! I don't know what to make of him. He seems kinda weird.

Have I mentioned that I love reader's guide? Like this on Elizabeth Boyle's website? Questions that make readers think? It's like taking Literature exam.

You know, I wanted to punch Emmaline when she didn't encourage Miss Mabberly to say to hell with the wedding.

When Sedgwick decides to marry Emmaline for real? ☺

I love butlers. And servants. What will historical romances be like without their meddling?

Thank you Elizabeth Boyle.

What was I thinking?

  • I take that back. Thank you for allowing me to escape.
  • Totally grateful to any time I have for reading.
  • Totally grateful that I can read.
  • Totally grateful that romance novels exist.

Sunday Rants. What to read, and more rants.

I'm been having problems with reading. I started on a book, and stopped reading 45 mins later. The next day, I started on another book, and stopped reading 30 mins later. And as of now, I'm thinking of starting another book.

On defense of the books, they aren't horrible, but they just don't seem to interest me at the moment. Now, I think I would like something light, and funny. Definitely need funny. Contemporary helps too.

*Turns to grab the TBR pile closest to me.
One of the PILE.

Poor Nathan Kamp's face got wiped out by the camera flash. (See Angela Knight's Master of the Night book spine?)

Garters is the last classic of Pamela Morsi left in my TBR. Unread. No way in hell I'm gonna read it anytime soon. Think I have to take two weeks off work for that, one day to read it, and the other thirteen days to recover from emotional breakdown.

Hmm.. Maybe Your Coffin or Mine or I'm Your Santa. Maybe I'm Your Santa. Something short. Ooh maybe I should go check out all those super short Harlequin eBooks. Maybe. Can someone just send me links? I feel so lazy to look for books to read. Wait, I hear someone say that I should smack myself.

Rydstrom is mine. And I've glanced through (not read no way) numerous reviews of Kiss of a Demon King and !@#$%^ them because I've not got my hands on the book. No I don't want an eBook of that, I want a nice physical book to cuddle up to read. (Darn you local bookstores! When are you gonna stock them?! Amazon is NOT a choice!) Really can't wait to read about a possessive Rydstrom. Want to read it soo much.

Two pretty covers:
Photobucket Photobucket

Better visit the Elizabeth Boyle's website only for info on these two books. Better NOT read the synopsis on Amazon (it's a spoiler IMHO).

And this from Romantic Times:
Photobucket

Isn't Robin Schone's cover gorgeous? Look at that colour! It looks more reddish on Amazon though. I hope it's really pink like above.

And this..
Hard and Fast by Erin McCarthy
.. is just too hot not to post on my blog. And do you know that Erin McCarthy got a new website design? I just discovered it a few seconds ago. It's looks great!

Are you using Google Reader? It spoils me. I should really make it a point to click to see the original post instead of reading it from Google Reader.

Sasha White goodies!
I swear I'm gonna post photos soon of the books I won at a giveaway by Sasha White. (Thank you again!)

My First Romance of 2009.

I read this after work last Monday and Tuesday, and it's horrible! No, not the book, it's just horrible not being able to read a wonderful story in one shot. Why do I have to have the mood to read it on a Monday night?! I can't exactly burn the midnight oil when I have to wake up early for work the next morning. And then I have to torture myself during work thinking about it.

Love Letters From A DukeAnyhooo, I ADORE Love Letters From A Duke. It's such a sweet story. I love how Thatcher gradually falls in love with Felicity. Omg sweetness. I cried a teeny bit at the middle of the book when Felicity is crying. Omg what a book. I definitely love the part when Thatcher starts to call Felicity by her name and starts thinking of her as his Felicity, and not Ms Langley. It's just so wow.

Of course I had thought Thatcher could have done more to get Felicity back at the end..

Anyway, the best part of the story is, the characters don't have to save the world! Weeee! I can't remember the last time I read a historial without all the the-world-needs-me-I-have-to-do-something thing. It's all about Thatcher and Felicity (and the supporting characters). Simple. Love it. Sweet. Charming. Lovely.

I DEFINATELY will read more Elizabeth Boyle's books. DEFINATELY.

Read an excerpt here.

Get it as an eBook here or here. Amazon linky here.

Though she can’t afford the coal to heat her drafty Mayfair mansion, Felicity Langley still clings to her dream of marrying a duke--one she’s had since her very first curtsy. After all, she’s been all but promised to the very proper and very lofty Duke of Hollindrake for the last four years. Now all she has to do is meet him. But what Felicity doesn’t realize is that she has already met her duke—he’s the rather unfashionable yet altogether too-handsome man who has just turned up at her doorstep. And Felicity has just mistaken him…for her new footman!

By rights, Thatcher should immediately set this presumptuous chit straight and tell her he has no intention of following through with a betrothal his grandfather—the previous duke—arranged. But he’s quickly smitten by Felicity’s delightful determination, her irrepressible charm…and her breathtaking beauty. Yes, she’d wed him in an instant were his true identity revealed—but Thatcher’s vowed to marry only for love. So begins his deception and his conquest of this uncommon woman who doesn’t believe in romance, but is about to find her heart and passions set aflame by the unlikely servant she’s sworn to resist.

Oh yeah. Happy New Year!

I'm been taking a break (2 weeks?) from reading to play my much neglected video games. I'm a video games bitch too but not so much as a romance novel bitch I think. Anyway, it's 2009 and I guess the new year is a good time to start afresh, do something new, and change bad habits etc..

What I hoped for the new year is to only read good books. Only read books that I will like. But can one only read books they only like? How would you know you would like a book when you haven't read it?

Love Letters from a Duke Blah blah. I'm not really back on the reading track yet, I'm still in a play-video-games mood (playing Resistance 2 for the Sony PS3 if anyone is interested to know). But I'm really looking forward to reading Elizabeth Boyle's Love Letters from a Duke, which has a nice review at Rip My Bodice. Actually I started on it a little, but got sidetracked by video games.

Anyway again, my purpose of starting this post is to say I've got a nice end to 2008, with me winning free (free! free!) books from author's blogs, and the even better part is that I already love those authors whom I received free (free! free!) books from: Karen Kelley, Susanna Carr, & Sasha White, whose books I've just received. And Meljean Brook too, but she wasn't my favourite author yet when I won the anthology First Blood. And an honorable mention to Lucinda Betts for sending me Moon Shadow (my first free book) back in 2007. ♥ ♥ Thank you thank you thank you.

I got My Prerogative (yea I know I've got the eBook format already but-) and Sexy Devil on the 30th of Dec '08 (an almost 2 months wait!) , and thought WOW. What a way to start my new year. Thanks Ms White! I'd post photos like I did with the other free books I've got, as soon as I can stop thinking about Resistance 2..
