Love for Sale

Browsing through Lacy Dane's blog, I came across this very, very interesting title Love for Sale by Shelli Stevens. It's an ebook.

Buy Me!!

The excerpts are here & here.

After her oversexed grandma talks her into signing up for the ‘Buy a Dame’ fundraiser, Jessica Davis gets a makeover and goes on the auction block.

And it's written in first person:

"Ladies," I turned and inclined my head regally. "I know this must seem awfully frightening to you. But if it raises money for the children, then I will honor the outcome of the auction."

I'm beginning to not care whether a book is written in first person or not. I used to be concerned whether I'll enjoy this type of book, but after reading a number of superbly written ones, I thought it didn't actually matter at all.

Mr. Tattoo waited for me near the Exit sign, watching me as I made my way down the hall. My bravado and excitement slipped a little with each step closer to him. Twenty-four hours. I would be with this man for twenty-four hours.

"Jessica Davis." A slow smile spread across his face. "So you're gonna be my bitch for the weekend."

What I Crave

I feel really good today.

Anyway, since I still can't stand reading for long durations, I though I'd satisfy myself with reading the books excerpts, that cames with almost all the books I own.

I randomly picked P.J Mellor's book, Give Me More, and it comes with an excerpt of Lacy Dane's erotic historial romance anthology, What She Craves.

Photobucket

From the cover, I had totally no idea that this is a historial romance. Had I known, I may just check out this book earlier. I feel that I've been reading too much comtemporary romances lately.

"Let me tickle you, my sweet," he said as he slid his finger beneath her chin and raised her eyes.

Omg, this sounds so naughty.

Taking a break.

In short, I've been having this headache/heaviness in the head for the past week or so (yes I've seen doctors & taken medicine, thank you for asking), hence the lack of posts. I'm taking a break from reading and using the computer, maybe for days, or weeks, I don't know how long. Happy reading folks, and have a healthy lifestyle.

UPDATE 21st May: I'm feeling ok today, although I still feel slight discomfort in my head sometimes, and I miss reading! The pile of unread books I have is just there torturing me, but I still don't feel well enough to really enjoy a good book. See? This is what I get for prolong use of computer and reading a book with bad sitting posture (it strains the neck, caused the headache, something like that, the doctor said. Needs lots and lots of rest, the doctor also said).

So I'm off to get more rest. (Days of rest, the doctor said. Or better, take weeks off work, the doctor also said.) Thanks HelenKay, for your get well message. Buy her book!

"I only have fangs for you. I love you, baby."

Fang-Whipped?

I love all those moments when Sebastian is teaching Mina how to use her vampire skills. I thought it was very sweet that they kept holding hands.

How many vampires you know, actually blogs?

In Fangs but no Fangs, Christian atones for his many sins by living in a run-down trailer neighbourhood complete with ugly lawn ornaments. And his therapy includes blogging on his site on the internet called Being Human.

Christian Blogs!

The few insights to his blog is really interesting.I would have loved to read all the posts. But too bad after he is reformed and married, he stops blogging.

Yes! Yes! Yes!

Everytime I see a new book coming soon by one of my favorite authors, I have a tiny orgasm.

Naughty, Naughty.

This reminds me of a book by the same title..

Another hot cover that I like:

Body Moves.

Read the excerpts for Body Moves here.

“You think I have a man in here. I don’t have a man in here.”

“Actually you do.” He pushed his way inside, taking a second to kick the door shut before he pinned her against the wall with the press of his body against hers.

Chocolate is good medicine.

I love Chocolates.

Check out the excerpts on Renee Luke's website.

My favorite part:

Nathan Ray had a hard-on for a woman he didn’t know. A woman he’d never seen before now. Hell, he didn’t even see all of her, just her backside; narrow waist, round ass, shapely legs.

and the

"Awhh!"

in

“Excuse me.”

“Awhh!” She spun toward him, her eyes wide with fear, the blow-dryer aimed like a gun, blasting him with cool air.

I thought that was a really funny exclaimation.

It's Donahue Donahue Donahue!

Rock My World!

What made me buy this book? Probably the phrase on the cover, C'mon, I dare you.

To research his latest film, he’s spending three full days (and nights) in a lush, tropical paradise with sensual survival expert Ariel Leigh.

I love reading about Cole and Ariel's three full days (and nights) together. This is what I like in romances, having the hero and heroine together all the time, every single damn moment.

I love reading about how their relationship developed over these days, love reading how they feel about each about, love their little concerns for each other during that time, it's repeatedly frustratedingn to read the words "I love you/falling in love with you/blah blah love you blah blah" appearing only in italics instead of being between double quotation marks.

And I think I fell in love with Ariel's uncle:

"... I suggest you pursue her as she's never been pursued before. And if you're able to catch up with her, I suggest that this time you tell her what's in your heart."

Oh, the ending has got to be the most unique ending of all endings I've ever read. Did I say I love Ariel's uncle? The idea that he makes Cole sweat it out to look for Ariel is just awesome! The reuniting part is just sweet, sweet, sweet, and I thought it was really a torture for Ariel to keep hearing Cole's voice but thinking that she's dreaming. But still, what a memory it would be for Ariel, and what a story to tell the children and grandchildren. I read the ending a million times and each time never fails to put tears in my eyes.

Christmas Bravas

I miss reading a six-author Brava christmas anthology. I didn't think the stories are compromised by the limited pages. My favorite shortest novella has got to be Nancy Warren's Nutcracker Sweet from Jingle Bell Rock. For me, it beats most full-length novels.

Nutcracker Sweet is only about 40 pages (or less I think), but the story is full of substance, full of happenings/progress.. I get to know the characters and their relationship very well in just a few pages. I felt that I've been reading the story for more than two hours, but in reality, I only finished it in slightly less than an hour. The story never ceased to wow -- and touch -- me no matter how many times I read it.

And here's probably my favorite part of the story where Daniel asked for Tara's number.

"We should probably swap phone numbers, too."
"Why? It's the talking that gets us in trouble."
"In case we want to have phone sex."
"Oh."
