Recent Reads.

Speed Dating by Nancy WarrenWhen I downloaded all 16 free Harlequin books (a 60th Anniversary thingy), it's no question that I will read Nancy Warren's Speed Dating first.

** I thought Dylan Hargreave is really slow in the head when Kendall told him that she loves him. **

Baby Bonanza by Maureen ChildThe next book is Maureen Child's Baby Bonanza, because it's summary got me interested. It involves twin babies, and oh I love reading about heroes melting when being around babies. I don't care much about the cover though. Thank you summary. Simple short read. Great for me.

A Very Special Delivery by Linda GoodnightNext up is A Very Special Delivery by Linda Goodnight. Oooh I really enjoyed that book. Especially the hero, Ethan Hunter. He fights for the relationship and gosh I lost count how many times he got turned down by the heroine, but he never gives up. I so love that in a hero. Whenever Molly (the heroine) says "no" to any of his invitations/dates/blah, whatever Ethan says in reply to the "no" always makes the awkward situation.. less awkward.

Ethan and Molly reminds me alot of the main characters in LaVyrle Spencer's Forsaking All Others, which btw, I loved, and got me digging into Ms Spencer's backlist, which is hard, as most of them are out-of-print, which means trips to many second-hand bookstores and libraries, which can get very frustrating (actually I've not been successful), but I digress.

Wait, I want to digress more. I have to add that second-hand bookstore are gems. And I also think that ALL OUT-OF-PRINT BOOKS SHOULD BE RE-RELEASED AS EBOOKS. NO STORY SHOULD BE DEAD. I don't care. I borrowed Forsaking All Others from the library, but for something I really like, I would love to buy it, let the author earn something out of it. Is anyone reading this?

Back to my reads, I love Ethan. And yea there's a baby in it.

I miss reading Nancy Warren's..

The first book I read by Nancy Warren is Drive Me Crazy, starring a sexy librarian as the heroine. Wish to be one. A sexy librarian who captures the hearts of sexy hot alpha males.

Anyway, since I enjoyed reading Drive Me Crazy, I started to look out for her other works published by Brava. So, yeah, I like her writing style. Her novella in Jingle Bell Rock, rocks. Have I mentioned before that I love that novella of hers? I really, really love it. Hell, it's the best novella I've ever read so far. I love it more than many full-length novels.

The last Nancy Warren book I've read is Turn Left at Sanity. I thought the back cover and the excerpt for it aren't really interesting at all, but it's Nancy Warren so I still got my hands on it. Luckily, I wasn't disappointed at all. Yay for wackiness.☺

Nancy Warren's upcoming book The One I Want is to be out in May, so here's the cover stolen from her website:

Brava covers are fwarking fabulous.

I totally dig this cover. Love the red. Wish I was the babe.

Read the excerpt for it here.

Christmas Bravas

I miss reading a six-author Brava christmas anthology. I didn't think the stories are compromised by the limited pages. My favorite shortest novella has got to be Nancy Warren's Nutcracker Sweet from Jingle Bell Rock. For me, it beats most full-length novels.

Nutcracker Sweet is only about 40 pages (or less I think), but the story is full of substance, full of happenings/progress.. I get to know the characters and their relationship very well in just a few pages. I felt that I've been reading the story for more than two hours, but in reality, I only finished it in slightly less than an hour. The story never ceased to wow -- and touch -- me no matter how many times I read it.

And here's probably my favorite part of the story where Daniel asked for Tara's number.

"We should probably swap phone numbers, too."
"Why? It's the talking that gets us in trouble."
"In case we want to have phone sex."
"Oh."

The First Post! Thanks to Nancy Warren!

Hello!

I've finally started this place. I'm been thinking about doing this for like, a year or so. I'm those kind of people who says "I've always wanted to (do something)", but never got around to doing it.

What made me finally start this?

Nancy Warren.

Actually I'm inspired/shamed by a conversation from Nancy Warren's novella in British Bad Boys.

Edit: I thought it'd be more clear if I quote that part from the book.

"You know, I've always fancied writing a book," said Charles, one of the men.

"Then you should do it, " (Megan) said. She heard this all the time and always wondered why, if they wanted to do it, people didn't sit down and try.

That got me working.

A big thanks to Nancy Warren, although I seriously don't know how long I can keep up this blog when I spend almost all my time reading.
